WORSHIP AT EDGEWOOD
Whether you are new in town or new to Jesus, checking out churches can be really hard. Where do I go? What do I do with my kids? What will the music be like? What is the teaching like? What will people be wearing? Will it be weird? Am I wasting a Sunday morning only to find out that this is just not the right fit for me? These are all valid questions to ask when looking for a church. Here is a brief run-down of what to expect at any gathering at Edgewood Baptist Church.
Please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. No matter what you wear, we will accept you for who you are. On any given Sunday you will find people wearing anything from jeans and shorts to suits and dresses.
As you arrive at Edgewood, you’ll find signs pointing you towards the kid’s areas. If you are dropping your children off before a gathering, give yourself extra time to get them checked in properly. Check-in opens 15 minutes before each meeting. We take your kids safety very seriously by doing full background checks on every single person serving with Edgewood Kids. Classes are fun and high energy. Biblical truth is the core of everything we teach.
COFFEE AND DONUTS
After dropping off your children, feel free to grab a coffee or tea and donut or other snack in the Fellowship Area. This is a great place to connect and fellowship with other believers. The Fellowship Area opens at 9:00 am Sunday mornings and 5:30 pm Wednesday nights.
OUR WORSHIP GATHERINGS
Now that your kids are safe and sound in Edgewood Kids and you’ve had your coffee. Head on into the Worship area. You will notice a pretty easy-going friendly environment where people are dressed comfortably. If you arrive a little late, don’t worry . . . we’ll help direct you to an open spot.
You’ll notice people in the lobby and worship area with Church Badges. Those volunteers are there to help you. We make it obvious because we want you to be able to find out what you need to find out. If they don’t know the answer to your question, they can probably find someone who does. There are always church leaders nearby.
If you’ve been to a few different churches, you know that musical styles can vary quite a bit. Ours tends to be a blend of traditional and praise. The bottom line for us is that our worship is designed to point you to Jesus. It’s not about music styles. It’s about Jesus.
Our teaching is focused on taking the truths of The Bible and explaining them in an inspiring manner that makes sense today. As a community, we are all storytellers telling God’s story. Expect our messages to last roughly 30-45 minutes.
You want you to know that we in no way expect our visitors to contribute unless led to do so. We teach and practice that giving is an act of worship and therefore, it is a willing offering from the heart of the individual toward God.
